Chief Sherry Ackabee
In October 2024, Sherry Ackabee was elected as the first female Chief of Grassy Narrows First Nation, unseating incumbent Rudy Turtle by a margin of 10 votes. Chief Ackabee emphasizes collaboration with her council and prioritizes the well-being of children, elders, and all community members. She is focused on advancing initiatives that benefit the entire community.
